Almost Engaged ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application and website. We believe your relationship data is deeply personal and should stay that way.

Unlike many apps, we take a privacy-first approach. We do not collect:

• Personal information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
• Relationship data you enter (milestones, goals, growth moments)
• Photos you add to entries
• Location data from your entries
• Usage analytics or behavior tracking
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs

3. Local Data Storage

All data you enter into Almost Engaged is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This means:

• Your data never leaves your device
• We cannot access, read, or recover your data
• Uninstalling the app will delete all locally stored data
• Your data is not synced across devices

4. Photos

When you add photos to milestones, goals, or growth moments, the images are copied to the app's private storage directory on your device. These photos:

• Are stored only on your device
• Are never uploaded to any server
• Are not accessible by other apps
• Will be deleted if you remove them from entries or uninstall the app

5. Location Data

The app may request location permissions to:

• Add your current location to entries (optional feature)
• Search for places when adding locations
• Display your journey on the map

Location data is processed on your device and stored locally. We do not receive or store your location information on any server.

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Maps / Google Maps - For displaying maps and searching locations. These services may have their own privacy policies.
• Expo - The development framework. No personal data is shared with Expo.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Since your data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device's security measures (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.). We recommend:

• Using a secure lock screen on your device
• Keeping your device's operating system updated
• Regularly backing up your device

9. Children's Privacy

Almost Engaged is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any data, this is not applicable, but the app is designed for adult users.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
